MCAL2000 - Program Dialogues

The two main dialogues are for the CNC Controller Setup and the Printer Setup.

Images shown may not be the latest version or a version not yet released

CNC Controller Setup Dialogue

With the CNC setup dialogue you define the various function codes that are required for the controller you have on your cutting machine.

The options initially presented when the program is first run are generic, change as required for your setup. Changes to this dialogue are saved real time in the session data file and recalled the next time it is opened.

Codes used in the output are enabled or disabled by selecting the check box presented to the left side of the code.

When opposite functions are available such as, Absolute or Incremental, Inch or Metric etcetera, only one is allowed and the opposite function is unchecked automatically.

Number formats are entered with the mantissa format and the decimal precision required. 123.456 formatted as 0000.000 will output as 0123.456 or formatted as 0.00 will output as 123.46 and formatted as 0000.0000 will output as 0123.4560.

When entering codes that require a literal alpha character such as the line number then prefix the literal with a back slash, e.g.  \N0000.

Import / ExportIn the event that you use different machines you can export the current setup to a file and import it when that machine setup is required. The file has a default extension of ".mcc", it is recommended to use this for interoperability with current and future modules. If the file default.mcc is not found when the program is started it is created from the current setup contained in the session data file.

Printer Setup Dialogue

With the printer setup dialogue you can select the printer, paper size and customize the comments that are used on the various printouts.

The selected pages are shown by the printer image, click the image to deselect.

At the top is a dropdown list of available printers.the System Default printer found when the program started.

Caution: As the selected printer becomes the System Default printer, other running programs will see it as the default. It is reset when the print is complete and on EXIT.

Text Boxes: Enter the comments for the various printouts, customize as required.

By clicking Use Cust. Name For Comments on the Quote Tab the initial text reflects that content.

By setting the Use Data Comment for all pages check box then text you enter in the Data comment will be reflected simultaneously in the other comments.

Restore All: Data in the dialogue text boxes is not saved until until the print button is clicked. The printer is also set back to the System Default printer found at startup.

Clear Comments: Clears the contents of all of the text boxes.

Customer Name: Inserts the content of the customer name on the Quote Tab.

Cancel: Discards any changes to the dialogue. Not shown in setup mode.

Print: Saves the comments, closes the dialogue and proceeds with printing. Shown as OK in setup mode.
