Detailed description of display

The translation angle is shown as 0.000° to 359.999°

Rotating 90° will display Translation: 90.000°

Rotating 90° and then Mirroring the Ys will display Translation: 270.000°

No Rotation and mirroring the Xs will display Translation: 180.000°

Only one axis can be mirrored at a time.

To mirror both X and Y then Mirror the X or Y and then rotate 90° twice.

When the layout is mirrored, X or Y, the cut will be "Kerf Right"

This may affect the cut quality when using a Plasma cutter

Default

Displays as shown in picture.

This is the default when moving from Tab 0. Considered a new layout.

When moving from Tab 2 or 3 the translations are not reset.

Left

Rotates the LEFT Seam to the baseline.

Right

Rotates the RIGHT Seam to the baseline.

1, 5 45, 90

Rotates the segment left or right by the value shown.

Mirror Xs

Mirrors the segment about the Y axis. (The "Mirror Ys" button will be disabled)

Mirror Ys

Mirrors the segment about the X axis. (The "Mirror Xs" button will be disabled)

The default CNC cut path is Clockwise (Kerf Left). When the X or Y is mirrored the program will reset the cut path to Counter Clockwise (Kerf Right). The Utility tab and the CNC dialogue will reflect these changed settings. The DXF file will also reflect this.

The portion of the cut path shown in RED indicates the starting direction.

The Mirror and Kerf status are shown below the "Mirror" buttons.

When the layout is mirrored, X or Y, the cut will be "Kerf Right"

This may affect the cut quality when using a Plasma cutter

Translations are primarily used to fit the segment into a plate size you may have in stock and/or to maximize the usable off cut sizes.

Many CNC cutting machines also have built in ability to translate and nest parts.

Center lines on the display allow the trained eye to use translations to closely nest matching segments.

The default CNC Lead In angle is 30°

It can be rotated plus or minus in 15° increments using the up/down arrows or set to 90° or 30° using the preset buttons.

Click this button to hide or show the break lines.

Real time display of blank information.

The title shows the segments required.

Displayed in current units is the Area, Weight and X, Y Plate Size.
